Sono state svelate le candidature ai 51esimi Annie Awards, i premi annuali dedicati al mondo del cinema animato la cui cerimonia di premiazione si terrà il prossimo 17 febbraio. A sorpresa, guida le nomination Nimona (9), seguono Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse ed il fresco vincitore del Golden Globe Il Ragazzo e l’Airone (7). Per la prima volta nella storia, la Disney con Wish e la Pixar con Elemental vengono esclusi dalla categoria principale, quella al miglior film.
